Vernon Park Church of God

This 204,000 sf worship facility, located on a new 40-acre site, is designed to be built in phases to meet the needs of the growing congregation. The sanctuary seats 2,400 congregants. The seating wraps around a multi-purpose platform on two levels. Two balcony arms cascade down to the main level, connecting the balcony to the main level. The sanctuary design features outstanding natural acoustics and controlled daylighting. State-of-the-art audio and video, including two rear projection screens, enhance the worship experience. The sanctuary is also designed to function as a broadcast television studio with theatre lighting, quiet mechanical systems, sound isolation, and catwalks above the ceiling. A series of acoustic clouds hides these elements and enhances the acoustic profile of the space. This project is designed to be built in three phases. The initial phase includes a multi-purpose hall that will become the fellowship center in future phases.
