Chicago Tabernacle

Harding Partners proposed to build a new campus with auditorium for a growing, culturally diverse congregation in the Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago. This new development will provide a welcoming, innovative center for celebration that reflects the modern, youthful congregation. The site will be redeveloped into a sustainable, state-of-the-art facility, replacing the existing vacant lumberyard and hardware retail building with a high performance auditorium. The main building features exposed roof framing and wood deck, reflecting the character of the existing heavy timber framed shed. The campus is intended to promote community, providing a welcoming presence along Belmont Avenue.

The main building accommodates a large community, with an auditorium seating 900. State-of-the-art audio, video, lighting, and digital media production facilities enhance the experience and allow for each performance to be broadcast around the world.

Building amenities will include a lobby infused with light, cafe, space for meetings and educational programs, staff offices, and approximately 100 parking spaces to support the growing congregation.
